About Sheila Fox
Sheila planned her first meeting at the age of 13, when she was president of her 4-H Club, and she’s been planning meetings ever since. Her college work experience gave her the opportunity to develop service opportunities and volunteer recognition events while studying communications at Ohio University.
Sheila got her “official” start in the association market, serving as Director of Meetings and Membership for the Ohio Cable Telecommunications Association, where she planned multiple educational opportunities for its 750-plus members. She realized many state associations didn’t have meeting planners on staff, and when organizations started reaching out to her for help, she decided to launch Event In Site in 2007. Since then, her business has grown to support national associations and non-profit organizations by providing full-service event management, association management, and consulting services. She loves to help her clients solve their biggest challenges and connect them to people and resources that help their organizations thrive.
Sheila was a 15 year board member of the POWER Chapter of PCMA, having served two terms as President. She was named the PCMA POWER Chapter's 2010 Meeting Professional of the Year and was a nominee for PCMA's Outstanding Service to a Chapter Award, given nationally. She received the 2018 President's Award from the Ohio Lobbying Association, given at the discretion of the president, for her impact on the association as its new Executive Director.
Sheila is an active member of NAWBO Columbus, the National Association of Women Business Owners; WELD, Women for Economic and Leadership Development; and OSAE, the Ohio Society of Association Executives. She is currently serving as president of her neighborhood's civic association and is a Governor Kasich-appointed Commissioner on ServeOhio, the Ohio Commission on Service & Volunteerism. As part of her role as commissioner, she served on the planning committee for the Ohio Conference on Service & Volunteerism.
A native of Dover, Ohio, Sheila now lives in Columbus with her husband and two daughters. When she's not busy planning something, you might find her researching recipes to try with her cooking club, checking out a new restaurant, running the streets of her neighborhood or practicing yoga at her neighborhood yoga studio.
